Summer Assistant

Shockcraft has an opening for a summer assistant to provide support to our current team over our busy summer period.

Main duties will be processing/packing of orders, stores and general duties.  There may be opportunity to help with suspension service and light engineering (machining, welding).

We are looking for the right person and can tailor this role and training (within reason) to suit the strengths of the individual.  This position would be ideal for a university student in their summer break.

Job Description

-  Customer service (email/phone/website/face to face)
-  Order processing and shipment
-  Stores duties, including stock takes and receipt of supplier orders
-  Data entry & other administrative tasks
-  Testing of mountain bike parts
-  General errands

Applicant must be:

-  An active mountainbike rider
-  A clear and open communicator
-  A motivated learner
-  Have office level computer skills
-  Have very high standards of care and accuracy
-  Physically fit and active
-  Safety conscious, able to follow written instructions and work independently
-  Able to drive manual vehicles and have a valid New Zealand driver's licence
-  Legally able to live and work in New Zealand

Hours & Location of Work

Work will be fixed term (negotiable, approx. mid-November 2018 to mid-February 2019), full-time (5 days, 30-40 hours per week), except for Christmas & New Year shutdown (21 December 2018 to 9 January 2019).

Shockcraft is located 10 km (biking distance) outside Alexandra, Central Otago, New Zealand.
Our office and workshops are new (June 2017), clean, bright and fully air conditioned.

Suspension Technician

Shockcraft needs another suspension technician to handle our ever increasing workload. 

Main duties will be suspension service, stores, orders and general duties.

We are looking for the right person and can tailor this role and training (within reason) to suit the strengths of the individual.

Job Description

-  Servicing of MTB suspension forks, rear shocks and dropper posts (training provided)
-  Customer service including technical advice, invoicing and orders
-  Testing of mountain bike parts
-  Processing, packing and shipment of orders
-  General errands

Applicant must be:

-  A natural and talented mechanic
-  Legally able to live and work in New Zealand
-  An active troubleshooter & motivated learner
-  Willing to upskill and obtain further qualifications.
-  Physically fit and active
-  An active mountainbike rider
-  Computer literate
-  Have very high standards of care and accuracy
-  A clear and open communicator
-  Safety conscious, able to follow written instructions and work independently
-  Able to drive manual vehicles and have a valid New Zealand driver's licence

Additional desirable skills: welding, machining, IT, CAD (2D or 3D) skills.

Hours & Location of Work

Work will be full-time (5 days, 30-40 hours per week), except for Christmas & New Year shutdown.
