COVID-19: Shockcraft Current Services as of 9th April

We Can Now Ship Essential Bike Maintenance Products

The New Zealand Government recently announced that during the COVID-19 lockdown businesses are able to sell essential non-food consumer products online, provided they do so in a way that protects the public and minimises the risk of COVID-19 spreading.  Shockcraft is now registered with MBIE (ref. #MBIEEB-2783) to sell bike repair & maintenance products & services.

What We Can Do

We are able to ship bike repair or maintenance products that are essential to keep your bike running for transport or physical health & wellbeing.  Delivery is to home addresses only, using contactless courier delivery.

We will be taking all appropriate public health measures to minimise the risk and initially it will only be us (Dougal & Ellen) sending out orders on split shifts.  This and reduced courier services may cause delays.  We will bring staff back in when we can safely do so.

If you need to contact us, please do so by email.  Our phones are disconnected.  We will get back to you as soon as we can.

Service Opening Soon

We will be able to service & repair suspension and dropper posts but please don't send us anything yet.  Dougal will be clearing the service queue already at Shockcraft before we open up for more service.

In the meantime you can still get your suspension/dropper post in the (virtual) queue by booking here.  Parts will be serviced in the order they're received with priority given to those with earlier booking dates.

Shockcraft Carrier Kereru (Pigeon) PickupBook Kereru Pickup

To have your parts collected please use our Carrier Kereru (Pigeon) Pickup service.  Once our workshop is ready we'll book a courier to come and pick up your parts from your home address.  This service works for local (Alexandra or Clyde) customers.  We will call you to arrange contactless pickup from a location that suits.

No Click & Collect

Our premises will be shut to the public and so we have disabled click & collect on our website.  Local customers (Alexandra or Clyde) can select local drop off and we will deliver.  There is a small charge for this at checkout.

Shipping Costs & Delays

International Customers
Due to reduced flights, there has been a significant drop in capacity and an increase in international freight charges for parcels to Europe & the UK.  We have had to pass on this cost to customers.  Expect all international delivery to be slower than usual due to COVID-19.

New Zealand Customers
Due to all orders going to home addresses, largely outside business zones, the charge for NZ courier deliveries has been increased by NZ$1 per order.  This means delivery of an A5 parcel within NZ is now NZ$8.50.

Changes to how we and our couriers handle your order mean that there are likely to be delays.

We will continue to keep you updated on our Shockcraft blog.  Please sign up to our newsletter here if you would like to receive updates.

Look after yourselves & your family.  Keep safe.

Regards,
Dougal and Ellen
